Spanish Camp Recap

Day One – Mexico!
We kicked off our Spanish Camp full of excitement and energy! Campers learned how to greet others, introduce themselves, follow simple commands, and name parts of the body — all in Spanish!

We explored the
culture of Mexico and enjoyed some delicious traditional drinks like horchata, agua de Jamaica, and Jarritos. The highlight of the day was making our own tortillas and quesadillas — ¡qué rico!

Campers also used their creativity to
make mini piñatas, a fun craft inspired by Mexican traditions.

It was a beautiful day of making new friends while learning the language and
embracing the culture… all with lots of emoción and smiles!

¡Día 2 del Campamento – Perú!

What a unique and exciting day!
Our campers came in full of energy and curiosity. We started by reviewing greetings and introductions, and they practiced new sentences—especially about likes and dislikes. They shared their love for soccer, béisbol, softbol, reading, swinging, and more.

Then came a big hit: Inca Kola!  They couldn’t get enough of it!

We explored the
beautiful country of Perú—comparing its culture with life in the USA. Campers made colorful llamas with paper plates and danced a fun mix inspired by the danza de tijeras and tuzu.

After that,
they became little chefs! They cooked Peruvian tequeños and arroz chaufa—and of course, enjoyed more Inca Kola and galletas María con dulce de leche.

They were so engaged, creative, and
felices today. ¡Qué día tan especial!

Day 3 – Puerto Rico: A Caribbean Adventure!
What a vibrant and flavorful day at camp!

Our campers were full of curiosity as we began with a
review of likes and dislikes, then learned how to describe themselves in Spanish. After that, we jumped right into our Puerto Rico theme!

We started with a fun brainstorm about Puerto Rico, followed by cool facts — like the famous
coquí, the tiny frog that sings through the night, and the island’s unique location in the Caribbean.

Today was
our big Tropical Fruit Day! Campers explored exotic fruits like guava (guayaba), soursop (guanábana), papaya, and pineapple (piña) — and weren’t shy to share their reactions!

Then came the dancing!
Campers learned how to dance salsa and got a surprise visit from Channel 12 during all the fun!

In the kitchen, we made delicious juices:
-Banana juice
-Banana & strawberry juice
-A tropical mix with mango, pineapple, and peach

For our Puerto Rican dish, campers made tostones (patacones) with green plantains — for many, it was their first time trying plantains! We filled them with meat, cheese, and salsa rosada, and they loved them! Mango was another big hit.

We wrapped up this amazing Caribbean day with a salsa band!

Day 4 – ¡Venezuela!

What a special day at camp!
Today we celebrated Aiden’s birthday, one of our wonderful campers. It was the perfect moment to teach everyone how to sing “Feliz cumpleaños” in Spanish— and they loved it! We sang, shared cake, and created joyful memories.

After that, we jumped into our language section, reviewing and expanding vocabulary with adjectives to describe ourselves. Then came a sweet treat from
Venezuela—Toddy, a chocolate milk drink that campers couldn’t get enough of!

We explored interesting facts about Venezuela, and the campers were amazed to learn that
Angel Falls, featured in the movie Up, is the tallest waterfall in the world—and it's in Venezuela!

Next,
we learned to dance joropo, a traditional Venezuelan dance. Since I’m originally from Venezuela, campers had a chance to ask me questions about my country—what a meaningful moment for all of us!

For our craft, campers made
a paper bag puppet project with their personal information—wait until you see their creative work tomorrow!

Finally, we became chefs again—
making arepas filled with ham and cheese, frappe-style lemonade, and a treat of María cookies with chocolate.

The campers are so excited for tomorrow’s show and closing ceremony—they can’t wait to show you what they’ve learned in Spanish and culture!

Reminder: Tomorrow is our closing ceremony at 11:45 AM—please come with your family and celebrate with us!

Customer Quotes

Blanca taught me Spanish using the immersion approach, and it was the best way to learn! I was able to travel to Spain and communicate fluently in Spanish there thanks to her teaching. She taught me how to make arepas, how to bailar (dance), and I still practice my Spanish with her to stay as fluent as I can. You won't regret booking her for language learning or for a  cultural experience!
